They were persecuted for some reason in their countries and obliged to leave their entire lives (and hopes) behind, searching for peace in a strange country.
Poverty is not only a matter of “deprivation of common necessities”…
It is mainly a matter of not turning your face the other side when you see someone less fortunate than you on the streets.
Each one of us can make the difference to "fight" poverty... if we don't cross our arms or close our eyes!
